GAA NEWS: NAOMH MUIRE GIRLS DO CLUB PROUD AT G4G MATCH

Busy few days for Peil na mBan. On sunday 14th of July 9 players from the G4G Squad played in the halftime match in the Ulster ladies senior final in Celtic Park,Derry v Strabane Sigersons.Team;Casey McGarvey.Marie McCafferty.Chloe Gallagher.Kelsey Doherty.Bernadette Sweeney.Katie Rodgers.Katie Ward.Chloe Murphy.Roisin Nicholas.

On monday morning at 6.30am Two Bús Feda coaches pulled out from Annagry carpark with 59 Girls/parents/club coaches from the G4G Squad on route to Croke park for the national G4G Blitz . The group with parents and coaches were given a tour of the stadium and museum before two squads of 15 players took to the Croke park pitch to play teams from all over Ireland in the National blitz,8 games played and four wins for each team a remarkable feat after such an early start from the lower Rosses that morning.Presentations of medals over and the long journey to the north west and Peil na mBan Naomh Muire G4G Squad were singing”Las Vegas in the hills of Donegal” as we pulled out the famous gates at the Cusack stand entrance and out war cry “We’ll be back in September” Super day out was had by all! Thanks goes to everybody who helped out in any way to make Gaelic4Girls such a success for our club and it now up to us all to continue with the good work and concentrate on more development for our future! “Our Club,Our Standards,Our Victory”

Under 12 and U10 training will continue on monday nights from 5-6 in The Banks on Monday evenings! U14 training is tues and thurs from 6-7 all players to be in attendance as the grading will take place this week and competition will resums next week.Minor competition will start on the 13th of Aug,the draw is yet to be made,Robbie will be sending out texts about training to parents in the next few days.

 

 

Bord na nÓg

The under 12s hosted a strong killybegs side on Monday night and gave 2 good performances in 2 close games. Training continues on Wednesday’s and Friday’s at 7pm. The under 16s gave a good performance away to Naomh Conaill last Friday night and were in the game right up to the final whistle. A good improvement since the teams met at under 14 level 2 years ago. Well done boys. The minors had a one point victory in their quarter-final 1st leg game on a score-line of 0-17 – 2-10. The 2nd leg takes place in Dungloe this Wednesday at 7.30pm. The under 10s hosted a blitz in the banks last Saturday. Thanks to Dungloe, Gaothdobhair and Robert Emmetts for taking part.
