It has been revealed that 23 new jobs that were to be created at United Healthcare in Letterkenny have now been axed due to budgetary constraints.
More than 400 people applied for the 23 new jobs and 70 had been selected to take part in a 3 stage selection process after the initial selection.
It is believed that the chosen applicants had two seperate interviews with the company before being asked to attend an orientation day.
The applicants were awaiting confirmation to see if they had got the job before they were told this week that due to budgetary constraints the positions are no longer available.
The company told the 70 on the shortlist that the jobs may be filled at some unknown date in the future.
None of the applicants know if they were successful or not they were just told there were no jobs available anymore.
Many of the applicants are outraged after spending a lot of time taking part in the 3 stage selection process, spending petrol money to travel to the company three times and other costs only to be told the jobs are no longer available.
