Donegal’s hopes for the 2014 campaign have been dealt a significant blow with the news that influential forward Ryan Bradley is to leave the country to take up employment in Abu Dhabi.
The forward who enjoyed a stunning season in 2012 when Donegal captured both the Anglo Celt and Sam Maguire cup is a plasterer by trade but has been unemployed for quite some time in Donegal.
It is believed that his initial contract is for three months, however if there is still no employment back in Donegal at the end of his three months there it is expected that Bradley will stay on in Abu Dhabi.
That would almost certainly mean the Buncrana man will miss out on Donegal’s 2014 campaign.
Ross Wherity is another Donegal player who has also announced that he will be emigrating and looks set to miss out on the 2014 campaign.
Wherity is moving to New York the St.Eunan’s man enjoyed a productive league and championship campaign this season in which he scored a vital goal in Donegal’s Ulster SFC win over Tyrone.
The news regarding both players will come to a body blow to both their respective clubs and counties.
