Finn Valley boxer Jason Quigley has earned a scholarship with the world famous organsiation Sky Sports.
The scholarship will enable Jason to ensure he can surround himself with an elite team that will help him to the next level.
These opportunities would have been unavailable before due to financial restraint.
Quigley is an amateur but the demands of the profession are off a professional capacity.
Due to this commitment Quigley doesn’t have time to fit in having another job so he doesn’t earn any other income outside of funding to train as a world class amateur.
This scholarship from Sky Sports however provides Quigley to train with the best and surround himself with an elite team of trainers, psychologists and nutritionists.
Quigley said, “The scholarship will give me the stability to have a more elite team around me, with the likes of physiotherapy, nutritionists and also physiologists where I will be able to have my body mentally and physically 110% ready to perform at my best.
“At the start it didn’t feel real. It was a weird kind of feeling, it was massive. It gives you a lift to be involved with Sky – its worldwide, it’s not just a national TV organisation, it’s worldwide and it’s great to be involved now as I’m breaking onto the scene.
“It will also give me the security to travel and train in world-class set ups with world-class athletes in order to improve my game, learn and gain more experience to fulfilling my dream which is becoming Olympic champion in Rio 2016.
