Community Consultation:
Following a successful site visit by the Family Support Agency the Family Resource Centre has been invited to submit a strategic work plan for the period 2014-2016. As part of developing the work plan we will be carrying out a consultation, in survey format, with young people, families and the wider community to hear what the main issues of concern are in the area. We would welcome your support with the consultation, which will take place over the next few weeks.
Counselling Services:
The Family Resource Centre is pleased to announce that funding has been accessed from the Family Support Agency’s Scheme of Grants for Marriage, Child and Bereavement Counselling Services to continue with the Counselling Service provided at the Centre.
The service which is free and confidential is by appointment only by telephoning 086 3601718.
RAPHOE WALKING GROUP:
The Raphoe Walking Group meets every Thursday at 10.30am in the Family Resource Centre. Everyone Welcome. This is a brilliant opportunity to get fit (ter) and meet new people in your Community.
Little Smiles with Big Dreams
Little Smile’s is a local parent and toddler group that meets in the Family Resource Centre on Wednesday morning from 10.30 -12 noon. The group is also open to grandparents/ Aunts/Uncles and childminders. This is a great opportunity for pre-school children to meet other children, enjoy messy play, story time and music. Light lunch is provides.
RAPHOE BOXING CLUB
The Raphoe Club has now reopened after the Summer break and training takes place every Monday, Wednesday and Friday nights from 6.00 p.m. – 9.00 p.m. when all new and former members will be very welcome along
Club boxers will be in action at the Donegal Novice Championship that will be staged in the Letterkenny Club-house on Saturday 5th October and club boxers will take part in the Donegal Open Championships to take place in the Buncrana Youth Club on Sunday 3rd November.
Details of the clubs “25 years of boxing in Raphoe” will appear in the local press in the coming weeks as the club will stage a presentation, dinner and dance in Jacksons Hotel Saturday 16th November and anyone wishing to place an advertisement in the souvenir programme can contact Gary Mc Cullagh, 087 6620824 or Peter O’ Donnell 087 7703116
The Raphoe club will celebrate 25years of boxing on Saturday 16th November with a dinner, presentation, and dance in Jackson’s Hotel and more details will appear in the local press in the coming weeks.
