GOLF NEWS: BEN MCBRIDE WINS THE XMAS HAMPER AT ROSAPENNA

Rosapenna Notes

The Christmas Hamper (G.o.Y) was played for over the Old Tom Morris Links last Sunday the 24th in glorious conditions which was reflected in the scoring.

The winner with 62 nett was Ben McBride (23). The runner up was Liam Breen (13) with 66 nett bot.

The gross winner was Conor McMenamin (6) with 74 gross.

Third place was Peter Smyth (11) with 66 nett.

The front nine winner was Pete McBride Jnr (8) with 32 nett and the back nine winner was Tony McBride (17) with 31.5 nett.

Congratulations to John Boyce who won the 2013 Golfer of the Year competition finishing with a total of 44 pts.

The runner up was Shane Doherty who finished on 39 pts with Enda Kennedy in third place with 24 pts.

The mini hamper will be played for this coming.

Sunday the 1st of December.

There will be a club competition on Sunday the 8th, 15th, 22nd & 29th of December.

The Mulroy Links took place at Rosapenna on Saturday last with the results as follows-

Nett

1st James Lynch (19) 43 pts.

2nd Garvin Toye (17) 42 pts.

3rd Odhran McGowan (13) 41 pts.

4th Shane Doherty (16) 40 pts.

Gross

1st Enda Kennedy (0) 38 gross pts.

2nd Noel Callan (0) 36 gross pts.

3rd Simon Stephens (5) 33 gross pts.

4th Dermot Logue (4) 31 gross pts.

The next outing will take place in Portsalon on Saturday the 18th of January 2014.

The above vouchers will be posted out in the coming weeks.

The gents AGM will take place in the Golf Pavilion on Friday the 6th of December at 8.30pm and all members are encouraged to attend.

The annual Rosapenna Golf Club Dinner Dance has been set for Saturday the 7th of December in the Golf Pavilion.

Tickets are available from any committee member and from the Pavilion Golf Shop.

This coming Saturday the 30th of November there will be an Open Four Person Scramble held over the Old Tom Morris Links.

The entry fee is 10e per member & 20e per visitor to include food after in the Golf Pavilion.

All teams are asked to check in at the Pavilion Golf Shop by 10.00am.

The shotgun start is at 10.30am.

The next Gaeltacht League fixture is set for Saturday the 7th of December away to Dunfanaghy G.C.

Any uncollected club prizes from the recent presentation are available for collection from the Pavilion Golf Shop during opening hours.

Six inch placing not near the hole on fairways only is now in effect.
