The club has started to draft a strategic plan to be implemented from 2014 onwards; this plan will have a time scale of 3 years taking the club up to 2017.
The idea is that within this 3 year window the club move forward in 4 key areas based on best practice within the GAA.
This is where you all come in; we will need input on these 4 key areas from the entire community.
In order to get everyone’s opinions & thoughts the club will hold workshops to the following audiences: (1) Senior Board, (2) Minor Board, (3) Ladies & (4) Wider community not associated with the running of the club.
These workshops will last no longer than 1 hour and we will encourage everyone from the community to attend and give there feedback.
If you can’t attend then there will be online questionnaires where you can give your feedback.
Once all the data is gathered, action areas will be identified and a steering committee will be formed using a cross section of the club from areas such as the senior board, minor board, ladies board, hurling and a senior/reserve player.
These actions items can be targeted for completion within the 3 year window.
We will then utilize people within our community with the appropriate expertise to move these actions items forward, however the initial focus will be to get everyone opinions from the entire community, by using these workshops and questionnaires and draft a plan where we hope to see the future of our club for the next 3 years, so again we encourage everyone to attend and if possible encourage your neighbours & friends to give there feedback via the workshops & online surveys.
More to follow on this and keep an eye out for the work shop dates and venues.
The minor board will hold the AGM on the 9th of December at 8pm in the RCS. Let’s get a good attendance and fill all the various positions for all the underage teams.
Also let’s get as many parents as possible to go on the night. Help and assistance will be needed throughout the year with a total of 19 under age teams, which includes boys and girls both hurling & football.
Help can come in many forms such as making tea and sandwiches on blitz days, to taking pictures, collecting gear & jerseys, filling water bottles or just travelling to the away matches and supporting our club teams, any help is appreciated.
The Minor board presentation night will be held on the 27th of December in Parochial hall.
Please keep this date in mind as we acknowledge the great efforts of all our young boys & girls. Tea & coffee will be served on the night. Come along and give your support.
The Movember charity fund raiser completed on Saturday night last in Beedy’s Bar with a final shave night for the ever willing Kevin Bonner lower main street by Paddy the singing barber.
In total there was approx. 3,200 Euro gathered, which will be distributed between Donegal hospice, Dungloe hospital and the Movember charity.
We thank Dave in Beedy’s Bar for providing the karaoke on the night and Paddy the barber for trimming some of the hairy faces.
We thank all the Mo’s who raised money and special mention goes to Mark Clerkin, Dr. Dara McNiff and Daniel Walsh for their substantial collections for these worthwhile charities.
