Vice-chair of Donegal Education & Training Board, Peter Cutliffe has this week agreed with the sentiments & concerns expressed by Cllr Ciaran Brogan in relation to the takeover of our water services by Irish Water.
Mr Cutliffe said, “I fully agree with Cllr Brogan that there are many unanswered questions in relation to Irish Water.
Not least of which is the concern as to what actual level of water charges will be imposed on private, commercial & public buildings such as our schools & hospitals.
“Irish Water were to create an amount of jobs locally but again I don’t see these developing on the ground.
“My understanding is that Irish Water is now owned by British Gas & It remains to be seen how this operations develops locally, but there appears to be a veil of secrecy surrounding the entire project.
