ROSSES AC ANNOUNCE DATES FOR SPRING 5K RACE SERIES

Rosses AC is delighted to announce the dates for the Spring 5k Race Series for 2014.  Rosses

This year we have decided to hold the three races in three different venues from which our club draws much of its membership and support.

Each race participant will receive points, which are accumulated towards the overall Series winners across a range of race categories.

All three events will provide an opportunity for both competitive and recreational walkers and runners from the local communities to come out and take part in a family friendly environment promoting health, fitness and fun.

If you have made a New Year’s resolution of targeting to walk or run you first 5k run, targeting the North West 10k in May or maybe the Letterkenny Marathon in August then get involved in our 3 races.

During the 3 Spring months in 3 different venues with the challenge of a 3% improvement from the first race to the last race.

· Prizes for first 3 in all categories which will include Senior, Junior, 40+, 50+

· Spot Prizes at each race randomly drawn from all race participants

· Only €5 for adults per race, €3 for children per race, €15 per family max

· Perpetual Shield for Overall Senior Men and Senior Women categories

· After Race Refreshments

· Sunday January 19th – Burtonport at 1pm.

· Sunday February16th – Gweedore at 1pm

· Sunday March 23rd – Dungloe at 1pm

Sportshall will start in the RSC on Monday 13th January. Fit4Life back in action again on Mon 6 Jan at 6pm in Carrickfinn and circuits in Mullaghduff Hall on Wed 8th at 6pm.

New members welcome.

Lifford AC is organising a mid week floodlit Track and Field competition on Wednesday 15th January for Juveniles and Seniors/Masters with another event planned for Wednesday 12th February.

The programmes are designed to give juvenile athletes some preparation for the forthcoming Ulster Indoor on 8th/9th February with limited events in u13, u15 and u17. Entry fee is 3 euro for juveniles and 5 euro for adults.

Juveniles will start 6pm and adults at 7:30pm

Adult training continues at the Industrial Estate, Gweedore on Wednesdays at 7pm.

These are speed endurance sessions and now is the time to get down and started into them.

New members always welcome with great turnouts every week.
