Lone Star State Ltd, a Transmedia Production Company and Graphic Novel Publisher, in association with the Regional Cultural Centre in Letterkenny, are delighted to announce that they will be putting on a special one-off Exhibition today.
The exhibition will showcase the artworks featured in the company’s flagship Comic Book/ Graphic Novel Franchise “LONE STAR SOUL”.
The Exhibition itself features a series of enlarged blown-up artworks featuring the dynamic and dazzling artworks in the featured in the comic pages.
These have been specially selected for this showcase, and have been taken straight out of the pages of the LONE STAR SOUL Graphic Novels.
Peter Campbell, Founder and Creative Director of the publishing business responsible for the LONE STAR SOUL Graphic Novel Franchise.
He is delighted at how this exhibition has turned out, and pays particular thanks to Sean Hannigan, and the Staff of the Regional Cultural Centre for being so generous in allowing and enabling him to put on such an Exhibition of the works in the great facility.
What is also of particular interest to this exhibition is that this will not just be a random selection of artwork pages of the LONE STAR SOUL Graphic Novel series.
Peter wanted to have an added dimension to it, he told Donegal Daily, “I thought it would be interesting to show the process and working methods used in creating a Graphic Novel from start to finish.
Highlighting the amount of work involved in creating a single Comic Book Page, Peter said, “What a lot of people don’t realise is that there are actually up to SEVEN people involved in the creation of just a single page in a Comic Book.
“With all the different tasks divided between the different skill-sets, that being from the writer, the penciller, to an inker, to that of a Digital Colourist, to the Letterer, right through to the Graphic Design (Logos and Icons etc).
“So to that end, what I thought would be interesting to do, would be to show an example of all stages of the procedure in the Exhibition, i.e. show the Black & White Pen Line Artwork, then the Digitally Coloured Comic Page, and then the final Layout Composition -the final finished page.
Any adult person at any age can enjoy Comic Books these days, and do and Peter thinks that this will not only be of interest to those anyway, but also hopes that this will be of particular interest to schools if they want to visit and bring their pupils, so that they can learn, and see for themselves in massive blown-up visual detail about this other exciting brand of visual storytelling.
The exhibition will be open from the public today and you are free to pop-in, browse and peruse the Artworks for the rest of the week.
If any schools want to arrange a visit to see the exhibition then they can contact either the Regional Cultural Centre, or Peter himself, where there will be opportunities for the creator of the artworks to give them a guided tour.
