Milford Ju Jitsu Club and Budo Jujitsu Rosguill had a very successful finish to 2013 with 3 successful World Ju Jitsu Federation Gradings.
The club grading took place in Downings and over 50 juniors took part along with 20 seniors.
Shihan David Toney who travelled from Ballymena to do the gradings on the day with Sensei Adrian Eakins , were very complimentary about the intensity and standard of both the junior and senior students.
This was quickly followed with the clubs getting their first ever junior black belts with 5 students being graded in The Dojo in Ballymena. The successful students were Oisin Bradley, Miobha Mac Ginty, Padraig McGinty, Liam McBride and Odhran McBride.
The following week it was the turn of the senior’s with 6 members getting their black belts with a very successful grading. Those that achieved Shodan status were Ciaran McTeague, Donna Gallagher , Ferdia Downey, Pol Duffy, John Sweeney and Darran Nash.
The clubs held presentations in Downings GAA centre for the junior members and in Milford Hall for the senior members to mark the occasion. It was very fitting that the club had its most successful year ever on its 10th anniversary.
