ROSSES AC ATHLETE AIDAN GILLESPIE WINS GOLD AT MASTERS CHAMPIONSHIPS

A huge congratulations to our club member Aidan Gillespie who travelled to the All Ireland Masters last weekend and came away with three gold medals.

First up was gold for Aidan in the 60m Hurdles followed by a second gold for in the Long Jump with a fantastic jump of 6.14.

And to round it all off he claimed a fantastic third gold medal in the High Jump.

Well done to Fionnuala Diver on winning the Ulster Masters cross country title in Lurgan at the weekend.

There will be a core session for adult club members this Friday night in the Ionad Phadraig center, Dore starting at 7:30 – 8:30pm and bring along 3 euro.

This was a request from a very positive adult athletes meeting last week and we have been fortunate to secure a qualified and experienced coach to lead sessions for the next two weeks.

Note change of time for training for athletes born 2003 upwards in preparation for indoor championships upcoming in Magherafelt.

Training in Carrickfinn on Wednesdays at 4:30 and Saturday morning at 11am.

Fit4Life back in action again on Mondays at 6pm in Carrickfinn and circuits in Mullaghduff Hall on Wednesdays at 6pm.

New members welcome.

Adult training continues at the Industrial Estate, Gweedore on Wednesdays at 7pm.

There is also a long run group that head of on a Sunday morning at 11am from the forestry entrance at the bridge at Dore.

New members always welcome with great turnouts every week.

If you wish to update your registration with the club for 2014 or join the club for the first time you can get a registration form from any committee member or they are available to download from our Facebook page.

Registrations are now due and membership for 2014 is only 20 euro.

There will be a table quiz in Caisleain Oir on Wednesday 19th February and all club members are asked to support.

Calling all parents and senior athletes. Would you like to take part in a simple yet fun fundraiser for your club?

If so, why not volunteer to host a ‘Come Dine With Me’ evening for your family and friends between now and St. Patricks day?
