Alas, winter got it’s revenge over the weekend with most parkland courses in North-West having cancelled competitions and with Barnhill being no exception, despite the use of winter mats, it was the right and proper decision in order to “save” the greens.
The eagerly awaited Captains’ Drive-In, Mr. Tom Mc Donagh and Lady Captain Catherine Cooke Harkin, will take place on this Sunday 9th February [weather permitting] with the format being a 3 ball scramble.
Registration will take place from 10.30am in the clubhouse [with complimentary tea, coffee, scones], draw for partners at 11.30am followed by a shotgun start.
A large entry is expected to help the captains’ welcome in the 2014 golfing season.
It would be appreciated by the club pro. [entries] and the competition committee that any player who has booked a tee-time and is then unable to play, would delete his/her name from the online booking page or indeed, ‘phone the pro shop and withdraw their name.
This would leave time available for other golfers to book their place.
Also, players who are NOT booked on the timesheet should not play on course unless first checking availability in pro shop.
