CLG BnaG Healthy Club Day

The Club held its inaugural ‘Healthy Club Day’ on Saturday the 1st of February in the Public Services Center in Milford. milford gaa logo

The event was a huge success and very well attended with a great cross section of the community in attendance in addition to players, parents, and friends of CLG BnaG itself.

There was a wide range of services on display from young peoples mental health, information on drug and alcohol misuse, various fitness providers, physical therapists and blood pressure and blood sugar monitoring.

Organisers Marian McNulty, Lynn Ramsey and Anne Marie Hannigan would like to thank all those who visited the various stands on the day and those who helped organise and facilitate on the day.

*Underage Registration*

Underage and Juvenile Registration in Milford Parochial Hall on Friday 7th 6.30pm sharp. There will be a short information talk on Club Child Protection and Welfare Policy and Procedures for all players and parents.

*GAA National Club Draw*

With prizes ranging from a trip for 2 to the 2014 International Rules series in Australia to a trip for 2 to New York for St Patricks day 2015, the GAA’s National Draw which takes place this year in Croke Park on St Patricks day.

As well as the prizes in the national draw, every ticket bought within the Club will be entered into our own Club draw also.

Tickets cost €10 and are available from all Club Executive members. Draw for the Club prizes will take place on St Patricks day in the Clubhouse.

Tickets must be with Croke Park for March 7th for the National Draw therefore all tickets must be returned before that date.

*Donegal Ladies defeated by Laois*

Hard luck to Claire Murray and Niamh Carr who were part of the Donegal Ladies team that were beat 2-18 to 3-5 by Laois at the weekend.

Claire lined out at corner back while Niamh played at half forward. Donegal play Cork in Convoy at 12.30pm next Sunday

*Minor Friendly*

CLG BnaG v Glenfin, Sunday @ 11am

The Minors prepare for their upcoming Northern League with a friendly against Glenfin this Sunday at 11am in Milford.

Pauric Curley is the Minor manager for the year ahead and is requesting all Minors interested in playing this year to contact him on 085-1026433 or on Facebook.

Players are asked to be at the pitch for 10am on Sunday.

The Northern Board Minor fixtures have been announced and CLG BnaG will play in Group 2 along with Clg Ghaoth Dobhair, Cloughaneely, St Michaels Gaa, Termon Gaa and Gaeil Fhánada Clg with games starting on Sunday March 2nd at 12 noon.

*Referees Course*

Anyone interested in representing the Club as a referee are asked to be aware that there is a beginners course for all potential new referees taking place on Saturday the 8th of February in Jacksons Hotel, Ballybofey.

*Allianz League Prediction Competition*

After week 1 Cormac Friel is top of the Club leaderboard, and 45th out of 6,832 entrants. The top 5 are:

*Championship Prediction Competition*

At long last the Championship Prediction Competition has come to a close.

The long delayed Ulster Hurling Final between Antrim and Down was finally played at the weekend with Antrim winning the title by 4-20 to 1-17.

This means that Joan O’Donnell takes the top spot and the €300 prize money for 1st place. Also in the money are Manus Boyce (€150) and Roisin Mc Cormack (€50).

Congratulations to the winners and we might roll out another competition for this year in a few months.

Club membership will be soon due for the 2014 year.

Please be aware that Donegal tickets will only be sourced for paid up members of the Club. The rates remain unchanged from 2013:

Family – €50

Senior – €20

U18 – €10

Alternatively you can subscribe to the Club Lotto Database.

*Crossfit*

Crossfit continues for all Senior, Reserve, U21 and Minor players every Monday (8.30pm) and Friday (7.30pm).

Anyone interested in playing for the club are expected to attend, all welcome.

Cost is e5 per week or e3 per session.

Alternatively players can pay e20 for 4 weeks or e40 for the entire 8 week program

*Ladies Preseason Training*

Ladies preseason continues on Wednesdays from 7-8pm.

*Lotto*

This weeks lotto numbers were 15-16-18-21. No jackpot winner, 2 match 3 winners wins €35 each. Darren Kavanagh, Ramelton, & Laurence McAllister.

Next weeks Jackpot is €480.

Lotto database players are reminded that end of year payments are now due.

Anyone wishing to join the lotto database in 2014 can download the standing order form from the Club website or contact Joe McNulty.

*Child Protection & ASAP Policies*

CLG BnaG Child Protection and Welfare Policy & Procedures and CLG BnaG Alcohol and Substance Abuse (ASAP) prevention Policy information sessions have been held for all members of the club executive and all those involved with underage teams.

There will be further information sessions for underage members and their parents/guardians following the next registration in 2014.
