DONEGAL’S Senior Ladies put in a stunning display against the country’s top team in their league match today – and just came up short.
In the lunchtime clash at Robert Emmett’s Donegal pushed Cork all the way, losing in the end by 3-13 to 2-10.
But the six point margin in the end was a tad generous to the visitors, the queens of ladies football in recent years and the eight-times All-Ireland and current champions.
Cork’s extra goal had kept them in it at the break as the sides went in tied Donegal 1-07, Cork 2-04.
It was a superb display by the Donegal Ladies, one which new manager Margaret Foy can take great hope from.
