A businesswoman who has launched one of the world’s most popular lines of women’s lingerie is among a superb line-up for Donegal’s 10th Enterprising Business Week.
Michelle Mone, a Scottish-born entrepreneur, launched the Ultimo brand of lingerie and has been a huge success story.
Ms Mone will be one of a number of high-profile speakers who will help the Donegal County Enterprise Board celebrate their 10th annual Enterprising Donegal Business Week.
Organised in conjunction with its enterprise partners in Donegal and event partner Sendmode, the week-long programme of free events once again aims to inspire and motivate people to consider starting their own business while at the same time provide a learning and networking forum for those already in business.
The week’s programme will run at venues across the county from Monday 3rd March to Friday March 7th with workshops, seminars and other interesting events.
With local business Sendmode on board as an event partner, text messaging will feature prominently as a source of information and reminders in the run-up to the week as well as during the week itself.
In addition there will be a renewed focus on the use of social media as a promotional tool, including the use of the Twitter hashtag #DEW prior to and during the week.
“After ten years Enterprising Business Week is now very-much firmly established in the business calendar of Donegal,” said Michael Tunney, Chief Executive of Donegal County Enterprise Board at a press-conference to launch the week’s events.
He added: “The week offers an annual opportunity for people in business and those thinking about starting a business, to make some time to hear how others have overcome obstacles or seized opportunities to either develop their business or achieve in their lives,” the launch.
This year’s week-long programme once again has a terrific range of speakers, workshops and seminars all aimed at providing opportunities for learning and networking.
“We have invited back some speakers who were very well received by Donegal businesses on their previous visit to Donegal. We are confident that you will find them and the other events and speakers which we have lined up for 2014 to be challenging, informative and inspirational.”
He added: “The ultimate objective is to help established businesses and indeed new start-ups to grow and develop which will assist the economy of our county.”
Meanwhile John McNamara CEO of event partners Sendmode has described the benefits of attending events organised during Enterprising Donegal Business Week.

We’ve always found it very informative, enjoyable and extremely motivational. The combination of top class speakers, strategic workshops, and time to network informally during breaks, presents fantastic opportunities to make contacts, develop business knowledge and motivate ourselves and our business team.”
