Hurling Update: First round of North West Ulster indoor hurling competition.

Dungloe were placed in a group with Letterkenny Gaels, St. Eunans and Gweedore.

Their first match was against St. Eunans and they narrowly won this game thanks to an excellent free scored by Michael McNulty.

Their next game was against Letterkenny Gaels which again was a close match but in which Dungloe prevailed thanks to two fine scores by James Hartnett.

Their third game was against a very fancied and strong Gweedore team and this game proved to be the game of the day.

It was a very closely matched competition but in the end Gweedore proved a little bit too strong despite great scores by Neil Noble and Brendan Boyle.

Philip Noble did some great moving in this game and narrowly missed two scores with great efforts. Gerard Glackin was very strong in the tackle throughout the tournament with great defensive blocking.

Jack Walsh put in a fine effort as well in particular in the final game.

The competition continues next Sunday with Dungloe travelling to Burt where they play Burt and two Derry teams.
