Donegal pianist Nadene Fiorentini will make her Piano Recital debut at the Regional Cultural Centre, Letterkenny next month.
The Moville born star has recently been announced as the National Concert Hall’s ‘Rising Star’ recitalist for 2014.
This award, given annually to promising young Irish musicians, gives them a platform to perform and allows audiences and fellow musicians to recognise and applaud publicly the wealth of talent that exists in Ireland.
Prior to her debut solo recital on the main stage of the National Concert Hall on 20th March, the Donegal Music Education Partnership are delighted that Nadene will perform in the Regional Cultural Centre, Letterkenny on Saturday 1 March at 7pm.
Nadene began piano studies at the City Academy of Music in Derry at the age of six with Ray and Ruth Mc Ginley.
At the age of 17, she became the youngest student to be accepted onto the BA in Music Performance course at the Royal Irish Academy of Music, achieving a first class honours degree in 2010, under John O’Conor and Therese Fahy.
Currently studying for a Doctorate of Performance in Music at the Royal Irish Academy of Music (RIAM), Nadene was recently appointed as an examiner for the RIAM, where she also teaches piano and works as an accompanist.
She is in increasing demand as both a soloist and accompanist following her success at the Dublin International Piano Competition in 2012 where she was awarded the highest placed Irish competitor and claimed the Brennan Prize.
She also added The National Concert Hall Prize, The RTÉ Prize, The Seán O’Connor Bursary and the Mc Cullough Bursary, which will assist in the production of a CD recording.
For her Letterkenny debut recital, Nadene will perform Haydn’s Sonata in B minor, Brahms’ 6 Klavierstucke Op. 118 and Chopin’s piano sonata No. 3 in B minor, Op. 58.
Tickets at €10 will be available at the door while students and children are admitted free.
Regional Cultural Centre, Saturday 1 March, 7pm.
