FATAL CRASH: CHILD IN CRITICAL CONDITION IN BELFAST HOSPITAL

ONE of three children injured in a car crash in which a woman died yesterday is in a critical but stable condition and has been transferred to the Royal Victoria Hospital in Belfast.

The young mum, named locally as Siobhan Hutcheon, originally from Derry but living in Ardmore Manor in Muff, died instantly in the collision involving a Bus Eireann coach.

The accident occurred at around 3.30pm in the townland of Ardee near Newtowncunningham on the main N3 Derry to Letterkenny road.

Her three children who were in the car at the time were taken by ambulance to Altnagelvin Hospital in Derry.

One of them has since been transferred to the Royal for further treatment.

The driver of the bus was uninjured.

Gardai have appealed to anyone who witnessed the accident to contact Letterkenny Garda Station 00353 74-9167100 or the Garda Confidential Line 1800 666 111.
