First Sunday of Lent

EVENING OF EUCHARISTIC ADORATION and GLOBAL LIVING ROSARY

In this Year of Faith ‘Come Worship the King of Kings’ in an Evening of Eucharistic Adoration and Global Living Rosary led by the Children of our Parish in St. Eunan’s Cathedral on Wednesday 20th February at 8 pm with guest speaker: Fr. James Kelleher, SOLT, Founder of Eucharistic Family Rosary Crusade.

CONFIRMATION CLASSES

A TIME OF PRAYER AND PREPARATION for the children of the Parish receiving the Sacrament of Confirmation this year will take place in St. Eunan’s Cathedral on Thursday 21st February at 6.30 pm. ALL children being confirmed and their families are invited to attend.

GAELSCOIL ADHAMHNAIN CONFIRMATION

Please remember in your prayers all the girls and boys from Gaelscoil Adhamhnain, their parents, families and teachers who will celebrate the Sacrament of Confirmation next Saturday 23rd February at 3 pm. CONFESSIONS for the Children, their families and friends will take place on Thursday 21st February at 8 pm.

AFTERNOON OF THANKSGIVING AND PRAYER

Next Sunday, 24th February, we will celebrate 25 years of JESUS truly present in the Blessed Sacrament in St. Pius X Adoration Chapel.

Fr. Thaddeus Doyle (Curate’s Diary) will lead us in an afternoon of Thanksgiving and Prayer for healing in the Cathedral. We will commence at 2.30 pm with an Introduction followed by Exposition/Holy Hour. From 4.30 pm to 6 pm we will have a Eucharistic Healing Service. Mass will be celebrated at 6.30 pm followed by the laying on of hands for healing.

Confessions available after 7.30 pm Mass every Monday

DON’T GIVE UP – TAKE UP! Why not take something up for Lent? There will be Reflection and Meditation on the scripture readings for the Sunday’s in Lent after 7.30 pm Mass each Monday evening. These sessions will last about half an hour and will be held in the Conference Room. Come and deepen your relationship with the Lord this Lent through His Word in Scripture.

 

CONVERSATIONS ABOUT GOD, FAITH AND FAMILY LIFE – For parents/guardians who want to explore their Catholic faith and their own role as the first teachers of faith for their children will take place in The Colmcille Rooms (above Veritas) on Tuesday evenings, starting Tuesday 19th February from 7.30 pm to 9 pm.

 

In order to raise the public’s awareness of the Governments intentions to legislate for abortion Public Meetings will held in An Cuirt Hotel, Gweedore on Thursday 21st February at 8 pm and in The Plaza, Buncrana on Friday 22nd February at 8 pm. Why not come along and find out why such legislation is not necessary and have your questions answered. The Speakers are: Joe McCarroll, ‘Pro Life Campaign’; Bernadette Smyth, ‘Precious Life’; Bernadette Goulding, ‘Woman Hurt by Abortion’, and Peter Saunders, ‘Christian Medical Fellowship’, England.
