Donegal’s senior hurling team proved simply too strong for a poor Monaghan side at O’Donnell Park in Letterkenny today.
Ray Durack’s team made the running from the start and cantered away to finish on a scoreline of 3-18 to 1-6.
Durack said later that he was pleased with how well his side hurled but admitted he was disappointed by how poor the visitors were.
A very small crowd turned out to see the game.
Next up for the Donegal team is the challenge of Tyrone.
“We played very well at times today but I was disappointed at how poor Monaghan were.
“But that shouldn’t take away from the number of scores we got. If we hurl like that against TYrone, then I would fancy us to beat them as well,” said the Donegal boss.
