Donegal manager Jim McGuinness has insisted that his focus is still on the championship in May despite Donegal only winning 1 of their first 3 games in the Allianz National League.
Donegal were defeated by 4 points on Sunday in a fiery clash with Tyrone in Omagh which saw both Michael Murphy and Neil Gallagher sent off.
It leaves Donegal on just two points after 3 games. However McGuinness has said he will continue to experiment throughout the league despite the run of poor results.
“We tried Ross Wherity out again today and we were happy with his performance, we also tried Mark McHugh at wing half back and Neil Gallagher at full forward”
“We will use the league as a vehicle to look at things like that and they were all kind of positives and we will continue to do so for the duration of the National League.”
“We just want to progress and move forward week after week”
Donegal face Kerry this Sunday in Ballybofey. Kerry have failed to win a single league match so far this season and desperately need to win on Sunday. Two points for Donegal would provide a much needed boost and ease their relegation worries.
