A kind-hearted Donegal family have adopted a little kitten who was cruelly abandoned by the roadside just outside their home.
Alan Rodgers and Trio McGonagle from Dungloe found the little cat in a dishevelled state outside their home.
The little kitten was extremely hungry and it looked like it hadn't been fed for days.
The family decided to take the kitten in and give it food and shelter until it got stronger.
The couple's young children Oisin and Adam grew very fond of the little kitten and asked their parents could they keep the cat.
Trio told Donegal Daily, "We found the kitten in a terrible state and it looked like it had been abandoned.
"He was very, very timid and frightened, we gave him food and water and he started to get stronger.
"After a few days he was less timid and the boys were able to pet him and they grew very fond of him and named him 'Catster'.
"They asked us to keep him, and I was unsure but when I looked at the cat's cute little face I knew it was the right decision to keep him and the boys were delighted.
