Naomh Muire, Aodh Ruadh, St.Naul’s and Naomh Columba will this weekend battle it out for a coveted place in the All Sports Intermediate Championship Final.
Naomh Muire being the only Division Two side left in the championship are tagged as favourites to go and not only beat Aodh Ruadh in their semi-final but actually win the Championship outright.
The men from the Banks last won the championship in 1998 and current manager Danny O’Donnell was a playing member back then, the only surviving member of that 1998 team that is still playing in this years team is Owenie McGarvey.
Aodh Ruadh were defeated in last years decider and will be hoping to go one better and with the class and experience of Brian Roper and Niall McCready in your ranks the men from Ballyshannon will fancy their chances.
In the other semi-final St.Naul’s who competed in the senior championship last year face Naomh Columba in what should be another intriguing semi-final clash.
St.Naul’s will look to former county player Stephen Griffin for inspiration, while the men from Glencolmcille have been dealt a blow with the news that they will be without brothers Declan Maguire (Ankle Injury) and former county player Michael Maguire (Working Abroad) both are important players for Glen and their absence comes as a huge blow to the management and players.
