A convicted rapist who went on the run in West Donegal earlier this summer has been jailed in Northern Ireland for breaching the terms of his bail conditions.
Joseph McCabe was jailed for six months for leaving his jurisdiction without informing the police in the north.
McCabe went on the run in Donegal and was living in a caravan in Burtonport for two weeks.
Locals were furious a convicted rapist was on the run from authorities in the North and living amongst them.
Gardaí were unable to extradite McCabe back to the North and locals were terrified he would strike again.
He then moved to a hostel in Dungloe for a few days before moving on again to Ardara.
He eventually handed himself in to police in Derry on the 5h of May.
