Joe Coll has been named in the Donegal U21 squad for their Ulster Championship campaign which begins next month.

The former professional footballer signed for Derry City last season on his return home from Old Trafford.

However after failing to nail down a regular starting berth at the Brandywell he opted to leave the club in search of regular first-team football.

He returned to his hometown club Glenea United after failing to secure a move to another League of Ireland club.

However he looked odds on to win a move back into Senior football following his inclusion in the Ireland FIFPRO team which took part in a four team tournament in Oslo.

He was called into the squad last minute and was named as the player of the tournament.

He had trained with Finn Harps on a couple of occasions but a move to Finn Park failed to materialize.

He has been training with the Donegal U21 sqaud over the last few months and has proved he is as competent in goals in Gaelic football as he is in soccer.

He is expected to be Rory Gallagher’s No.1 choice when they play Fermanagh in Mac Cumhaill Park on March the 19th.
