Donegal boxer Jason Quigley is set to turn professional after being offered a lucrative six figure signing on fee from one of the biggest names in the world of professional pugilism.
Oscar De La Hoya’s Golden Boy Promotions have offered the Twin Towns boxer a sensational deal to join their team.
Following the news that an offer from Golden Boy Promotions was made to Quigley it quickly sparked a bidding war between the top boxing promotion teams in the game.
Quigley was counter offered a lucrative deal to join Top Rank led by veteran promoter Bob Arum.
It has been speculated that he was also offered a six figure sum to join Top Rank as the race to land Quigley’s signature heated up.
Jason Quigley and his father Conor are currently in negotiations with both parties.
However it is expected that Quigley will pen a contract with Golden Boy Promotions the boxing stable headed by former World Champion Oscar De La Hoya because of one man – Al Haymon.
Haymon is regarded by many to be the most powerful man in boxing.
He will be the man charged with guiding Quigley’s move into professional boxing.
When the deal is finalized it is expected that Quigley will move to America and begin his professional career.
